"I'm sitting here currently "brain storming" my next wedding, and I just had to stop for a moment and smile. Mikaela, only just finished yet another scold, 'don't get emotionally involved, do a great job, but remember to not get emotionally involved' and as i usually do I reply, "Yes I know, this time I won't...I know your right....blah blah"...She's full of it ! She is so blasted full of it! How on earth do you not emotionally involved in a job like this ! Honestly, your sitting here mapping out how to make people's dreams manifest, while pouring yourself into creating "magic moments" that even you yourself can't wait to materialize, much less the guests, brides family, and BRIDE, who look to you as some miracle worker; someone who will make the sun set at the perfect time for their wedding photos, stop the rain, clear the sky, keep the candles lit, create the moments for the perfect kiss, the perfect LOL moment.....not get emotionally involved?? We are an emotional business, it is our business to stir emotion....whatever....anyhow, who more emotional than her when she plays out the running order over and over to the point you want to slap her. Sigh...I love my job...you the client will never know...how much we love our jobs."
"Many people don't know who the faces behind White Light Events are. They like to assume that we are soulless individuals who are simply employees used simply to execute a vision. Believe it or not we are human. We immerse ourselves into each wedding with so much passion and intensity as if we were the bride. We love our brides like family and we eat, breathe and sleep their weddings.
Tara is right! We do get emotionally involved no matter how hard we try not to. We love our job to the point where no one else will ever be able to comprehend how much."
